1.What kind of gel battery?

GEL type battery, also called Gel Sealed Lead Battery, belongs to one kind of VRLA battery (two kinds in total), adopts colloidal electrolyte, also known as GEL technology.

 

2. What are the technical characteristics of Gel Battery?

The electrolyte of colloidal sealed lead battery (also known as GEL type battery) is made of silica sol and sulfuric acid, and the concentration of sulfuric acid solution is lower than that of AGM type battery, usually 1.26~1.28g/cm3. The amount of electrolyte is 20% more than that of AGM type battery, which is comparable to that of liquid-enriched battery. This electrolyte exists in a colloidal state, filled in the diaphragm and between the positive and negative electrodes, the sulfuric acid electrolyte is surrounded by gel and will not flow out of the battery. Tubular battery positive plates can also be used. At the same time, in order to increase the battery capacity without reducing the battery life, the pole plate can be made thinner. The space inside the battery tank can also be enlarged.

 

The advantages are as follows: GEL-type gel battery is no free liquid after electrolyte gel, the chance of acid leakage is much smaller than the previous type of battery; the amount of filling than dilute sulfuric acid 10-15% more than the loss of water and less, so the gel battery will not be due to the loss of water caused by the failure of the gel battery; the gel into the increase in the strength of the spacer, the protection of the pole plate to make up for the defects of the spacer shrinkage of the acid, the gel fills the gap between the spacer and the pole plate, reducing the internal resistance, charging, charging, and the battery can be used to improve the capacity of the battery without reducing the battery life. Reduce the internal resistance of the battery, charging acceptance can be improved. Therefore, the over-discharge of colloidal batteries, the ability of Shaanxi recovery and low-temperature charging and discharging performance are superior to AGM batteries; the consistency of colloidal batteries is much better than similar AGM batteries.

  

3. What are the main differences between colloidal batteries and AGM batteries?

AGM batteries and gel batteries are two kinds of sealed lead-acid batteries manufactured by non-processing technology. They differ greatly in design ideas, electrolyte fixing methods, assembly requirements, battery structure and performance. For AGM batteries, AGM diaphragm is used to fix the electrolyte.

Due to the low acid content, high density sulfuric acid is required.AGM batteries have shorter service life and lower manufacturing cost. It is suitable for low-end and mid-range customers, especially for UPS applications with short service life.

For gel batteries, the electrolyte is abundant, the sulfuric acid electrolyte is large, the sulfuric acid density is relatively thin, the electrolyte is fixed by gel, and the electrolyte is not stratified.

The battery has good deep discharge performance, long life, resistance to overcharge, overdischarge, high and low temperature and other unfavorable environmental impact, good stability and reliability, small self-discharge, long shelf life, not easy to cause thermal runaway, more suitable for medium and high-grade users.


4. Advantages of colloidal battery?
